Here I am! It's been a bit of a difficult summer with the grand finale of spending a week in the hospital. But life is that way some times, I'm on the mend and I had finally written the Waffle Blanket Pattern before I got sick. So here it is!

I loved making this blanket and it really went quite fast with the chunky yarn. The honeycomb stitch makes for a squishy, light texture and is fun to work.
Just click on the picture to download the pattern! And as usual, let me know if you find any mistakes, either here on Ravelry.
Pattern updated 12/6/14, marked Version B

I didn’t know you were sick, hope you are better know.
This pattern is beautiful, I think my baby needs a new blanket for this new winter 🙂 I wish I had the time to knit it!
Es preciosa!! El color me encanta! Cuídate mucho Ana
Un beso
ES ideal!!!! ¿¿¿Te gustaron las lanas made in Spain??? Besitos!!!
Thank you so much for this free pattern, its beautiful. I have two questions, when slipping stitches, is that knitwise or purlwise? Also, is there a technique for yarning over on the first stitch w/yarn in back? Again, thank you so much and hope you are feeling better:>
Since the yarn you used is discontinued what other yarn would work for this pattern?
Hi Ashley!
I think that Twinkle Handknits Soft Chunky would be a very good choice for this project. Also Tahki Yarns Montana.
Hope this helps! I'd love to see your blanket.
What does sl the yo mean? I can’t find it on the internet…
A yarn-over. Sorry if you have been waiting long for an answer, the site has been down the last few months.
Sorry, I mean, SLIP the yarn-over.

Question…. Do you have a tutorial or directions for the Ichord border for this blanket?
Michelle, there are directions for i-cord on the Teo Hat pattern, but it is not for attached i-cord. An internet search should give you some good results.

your pattern says to bind off on the right side. If you finish with row 4, you will be ready to bind off on the wrong side. Should I repeat just row 1 one more time to be able to bind off on the right side? Thanks. 🙂
Hmmm, you got me there. I think that's an errata: just bind-off on the wrong side. I'll correct the pattern as soon as I have a minute.
I'd love to see a picture of your blanket!
Thanks for your help! I’ll send you a picture when I’m done… It’s close. 🙂 I’m about to bind off; and then figure out the Ichord binding. Is there an email address to send it to when I’m done?
Both links take me to a blank page. Where can I get the pattern?
Just click on the picture. I'm not sure which links you are referring to… Maybe the highlighted text? But those are not links.
Best,
Ana
Es muy bonito el proyecto, donde puedo encontrar el patrón en español?
Aaaayy, lo tengo que traducir, de momento sólo está en inglés…
Like Rosemary, I clicked on the pictures and all I get is a blank page…
Debbie, Rosemary,
Do you use Internet Explorer? IE is unstable and prone to problems, and if you don’t have the latest version, lots of things don’t work. If you are using another browser, or the latest IE and still have the same problem, please let me know so that I can try to find out what’s happening. In the meantime I am e-mailing you both the pdf.
María José, me metiste el gusanillo y lo acabo de publicar. ¡Qué lo disfrutes!
This is such a beautiful pattern! I want to make a smaller version for a baby shower gift and I can’t figure out the stitch repeat. Is it a 4-stitch repeat, or maybe a 3-stitch repeat? Also, what is the total yardage of bulky yarn needed for the full-size version? I’ll have to substitute and some brands have different yardage.
I can’t wait to start this! The shower is 4/30/16, so I should have plenty of time.
I really love the look of this blanket. It is written in Spanish and I can’t seem to read it. Is it in English anywhere? Thank you Pam
Pam, the first picture in the post (labeled Waffle Blanket) links to the pattern in English; the second one (labeled Waffle blanket en español) links to the one in Spanish.
Holly,
First of all, I’m really sorry for the delay in answering! I was away when I saw your message and then I forgot to reply… I hope you still have time.
For casting on, use an even number of stitches (I promise, it’s that simple). I highly recommend making a small 10-stitch swatch to get the hang of it and to find your personal gauge.
For yardage and other details, check the pattern’s Ravelry page.
Good luck with the blanket! It’s a quick knit, so I think you still have time to make it in a smaller size.
Ashley, anything super bulky with a low twist will do. A Ravelry yarn search Ravelry yarn search should give you plenty of options. I am partial to Cascade Yarns Magnum, but it is an expensive choice, a cheaper one could be Lamb’s Pride Bulky.
You can find more choices on the pattern’s Ravelry Page.
Hi Pam,
I thought I’d respond since I was able to download the English version. There are 2 photos. Click on the top photo and it will being you to the English version.
Thank you, Ana! I’m casting on today!
How do I knit the border? What is the pattern?
Hi Jean,
The border is knit with I-cord, here is a link to a good tutorial. I hope it helps!
Happy new year,
Ana
When you slip the stitches do you do it knitwise or purlwise?
It is a beautiful blanket! Thanks for sharing!
Purl-wise; I’m glad you like it!
Thank you for this lovely pattern
MAybe I’ll try it for a winter’s baby
